No tricks, all treats in this fruity, sweet, and chocolatey Colombian community coffee. It pairs perfectly with dark chocolate, red and pink starbursts, and twizzlers. Don't believe us? See for yourself - we're adding these pairings to every order for the ultimate taste experience.
The Development Lot serves as a way for coffee producers to experiment with offerings with the safety net of a larger, consistent, year round offering in which to contribute. This is necessary for the development of the participating young producers and the growth of their own skills, offerings, and professional brands. Drinking their coffee actually makes you really awesome and we love that about you. Scroll to the next section to learn more about the program and producers!

Young Producer Program
Antioquia, Quindio, Huila - Colombia
This lot unites coffee producers across Colombia in a Young Producer program run by green supplier Unblended Coffee. The program takes participants through a recruitment, development, and transformation - designed to guide them on their own projects, to help them position their brand internationally, and to enhance their profitability with differentiated products.
The producers we have to thank for this year's Development Lot include:
- Sebastian Ramirez (Mentor - Red Fruits)
- Andres Cardona (Mentor - Natural process)
- Cabresto Coffee team in Andes (Recruitment)
- Yessica & Diego Parra (Mentors - Recruitment)
- Alejandro Ariza (Recruitment)
- Ronaldo Hurtado (Recruitment)
- Oscar Osorio (Recruitment)
- Danilo Naranjo (Recruitment, Experimental)
- Sergio Giraldo (Recruitment, Experimental)
- Santiago Arango (Experimental)
How does the The Development Lot work exactly?
It allows for these producers to, quite literally, develop coffee lots for market potential by reducing some of the associated risk of experimenting and by providing regular feedback loops between the end user (like us!) and origin (that's them!) They attend camps to refine their skills, they receive mentorship from other experienced producers, and every two or three months, producers in the program experiment with a 20-30 kg batch using natural or extended fermentation. Their coffee is then sampled with Unblended for feedback and it may then be scaled from the experiment to a new product in their portfolio.

Process
Experimental Natural
Currently, the lot is composed of naturally processed coffees and extended fermentation coffees that are then blended with Sebastian Ramirez' Red Fruits. Sebastian's Red Fruits lot uses a dehydrated strawberry cofermentation and a red wine yeast inoculation. Blending these coffees together at origin helps create a strong base for the experimental singular lots and helps achieve a more consistent year round offering as a whole. The result is a brewed cup that has layered complexity, deeply fruity tasting notes and aromatics, high sweetness, good body, and juicy acidity.
